ABOUT THE BOOK

As Christians it is somehow implied that once we are saved, we have all the skills for living a kingdom life on earth. There somehow a switch that flips on and we are downloaded with the faith to make it through all the storms. We will instantly trust God with our lives even though we were taught to not trust anybody. We are somehow just going to love God unconditionally when most of us were not loved and don’t have a clue how to receive love without conditions. We must learn the new life and way of living IN God. When we come to Jesus Christ as born-again servants of the Lord, we are not told that we need more that a service mindset with God to make into heaven. Our relationship with God can be broken down into three parts just like the Tabernacle of old. Either you are having a relationship (outer court), or you with God (The Holy) or you are in relationship with God (The Holy of Holiness). Now all are good to experience but faith, trust and love can only be when we are IN a relationship with God.

Cynthia Robinson takes you through the 3 stages of growth in God it is Have, With and IN. She explains the how’s, what’s, when’s, and who’s with familiar biblical characters and principles. Cynthia has included her own experiences waking in complete darkness right in the church.” I never know faith, love and trust in God would be like this but when you open yourself to his grace and mercy the True God can show up for you”.

EXCERPT

The “IN” word is a simple yet complex book on being “IN” a relationship with God. We cannot just be a Christian or a religious person. At the point of adoption into the family of God, everything in our lives change. We are no longer on the outside looking in. No more just being Gentiles or Jews. Not sinners doomed to hell for eternity. The confession of your mouth that Jesus Christ came to die for your sins and that His resurrection confirmed eternal life with the Godhead, we are now heirs with Christ.

With that being said, to be “IN” means we have something we must do. We are to be “IN” relationship with God. Now, I know some of you are saying, “I’m already in a relationship with God. I pray daily, I read my bible and I go to church. I sing in the choir, I minister to the young/the elderly, and I do other ministry work. I give to the poor and I do missions work out of the country. I pay tithes and offerings.” “My relationship with God is fine. Is it, really?” Everything mentioned are works for the Kingdom. It’s good, but what about the “IN” God part? Merriam-Webster defines the word “IN” as, used in a function to indicate inclusion, location, or position within limits.

After reading this definition, what type of relationship do you have with the Godhead? Are you “Having” a relationship or “With” God “IN” a relationship or are you “In” relationship with God?

Let’s see…

  AUTHOR INTERVIEW

1.Why do you write the kind of books you do?

I am a learner of my experiences. When I have learned something new about my journey, I will write about it. My first book entitled I Am Leah was about low self-esteem and how it can and will affect our personal relationship if we are not careful. While writing the book I had to realize that I was battling it myself. God showed me that my esteem should be based on his blessings and promises and not the words of others.  I know that it was my turn to express this pain to help others change.

  1. Besides when you came to know the Lord, what is the happiest day in your life?

There are too many days that I can think of just one but if I must pick one it would be my wedding day. My husband and I were met to be together. He has been my biggest support even when I don’t see it sometimes. I do not have a better friend than him because he will tell me the truth whether I want to hear it or not. That day with just family around (we went to city hall) it was the best day. No big wedding just us and family everyone that we are going to be together until death do us part and we mean that every day.

  1. How has being published changed your life?

I would say it is a constant reminder that I will have a legacy of literature that goes on even after I am gone. I am respected as someone that champions the cause of women all over the world. I desire to see them grow in their relationship with God. My books have opened doors that I probably would have not been able to go into without them. I have been blessed to do book clubs, speaking engagements and conference. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that I am encouraging and inspiring my sisters and that they are doing the same for me.

  1. What would be your dream vacation?

My husband and I did not have much of a honeymoon. We both at that time worked in the hospitality industry and we got married in the high season. Leaving work at that time was slim to none. I would love to go on a honeymoon to either the Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. I want to be on an island all-inclusive no kids around with the butler service. I would love to see the smile on my husband face as he just laying on a chair enjoy the sun, sea, and me. That is my dream vacation that I plan to fulfill this year.

  1. What three things about you would surprise readers?

The first thing is that I am very shy person yes me with the talk shows. I just like to be alone. I have been this way as a child, and it has not change as I have become an adult.  I am comfortable being by myself. And with that being said number 2 is that I am extremely extroverted.  Yes, I can go speak and be around people but if I can just have my husband or my kids, I am good with that group. Number 3 for people close to me know this but as much as I love my husband, I never wanted to get married. I thought it was an institution set up to keep women pregnant and in the house. Thank God for Jesus and the true understanding of love and marriage.

  1. Tell us about The IN Word

The In Word is a book that I hope will make the buyer think about your relationship with the Godhead. A lot of us think we have one because we have done works in the church. Works in the church is a part of it but God desires a relationship with us. We are not going to make heaven with a world mind. We must question whether we are having a relationship with god or just with god or IN relationship with God.

  1. Is there one particular message or “moral of the story” you hope readers walk away with?

That we all have work to do. No one is perfect in this walk and if we put God first and follow him, we can have heaven here. Works are great but to love, trust and have faith gives us God in such a way that no one can take us away from Him.

  1. What’s on the horizon for you?  What will you be writing next?

Well in a couple of months I will be doing my television show on a global level. I am excited about that. I will also be doing group coaching as I convert my books in to courses to help Christian women grow in God. And last but not least I am working on my next book entitled the Outward. It is the second in a 3-part series about Christian living.

  1. How do you see yourself in your character’s story, if at all?

I see myself in all my characters man or female. I have some type of connection to them because I have either being in the same situation as them or I am in that situation right now. Solomon says it best there is nothing new under the sun. We all go through the same thing. It is how we accept the advice of others that helps us navigate through our own personal mountains and valleys

  1. Where do you like to write?

Most in a quiet space. It can be in my office or my bedroom. It can be at the library or at the beach. Wherever my peace and my writers’ juices are flowing I can write.
